How to Make Persimmon Bread
Persimmon bread has the same great taste and texture as persimmon cookies except it is made into a bread. Persimmon bread is delicious anytime of the day when you want a snack and persimmon bread is especially enjoyable with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
Things You'll Need:
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup Hachiya Persimmon pulp
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 cup chopped nuts

Step 1
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease and flour 5x9-inch loaf
pan . -
Step 2
Stir baking
soda into persimmon pulp and set aside. -
Step 3
Combine flour, sugar, brown
sugar , baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Set aside. -
Step 4
Stir egg, milk, oil, and persimmon pulp together in a large bowl.

Add flour mixture to persimmon mixture and stir until well blended. Stir in nuts.

Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until wooden toothpick inserted in the middle of the bread comes out clean. Remove from oven and turn out on a cooling rack; cool completely.
